How to import your contact data from a .CSV file and map the contact fields

Bulk-adding data about your donors into your PhoneRaise Campaigns lets you simultaneously incorporate names, contact details, donation specifics, and custom fields.

After formatting your donor spreadsheet, you can bulk-add contacts to your PhoneRaise Campaign.

To import contacts in bulk

1. Prepare Your Contact Data

Prepare a contact spreadsheet as a Comma Separated Values (.csv) file.

2. Log into the PhoneRaise webapp.

This must be done from a desktop

3. Select or Create a Campaign

Go to the campaign that you will be uploading contacts to and make sure you are on the contacts page

4. Navigate to the contacts section

Click on Add Contacts in the top right corner. Then click on import contacts.


5. Choose the import option

You can choose to add, update or overwrite contacts.

Updating contacts requires you to have a Contact ID field to match the updated data to

If you select "Overwrite", any data you previously had will be deleted, and the new contacts will be updated.

If you have not uploaded any contacts yet, you can select any option to get started.

6. Upload  Your Data

  1. Upload your CSV file to PhoneRaise

  2. Map Your Fields: The import tool recognizes the data by column headers. Carefully review and confirm each instance that appears to ensure your data is imported correctly.
  3. Custom Fields: If none of the default options match a field you are importing, select Custom Field. Once imported the custom field will automatically assume the name of the field name in the imported spreadsheet.
